Today is my first outing since my discharge from the hospital. I’m easily exhausted so I can’t be on my feet for too long which is why I prefer to stay home. My family made plans to go to the Seattle Aquarium today. I’m sure they’re tired of being cooped up in the house. As much as I love outings, I was more than happy to just stay home but they all insisted I go too. So before they left for downtown, my sister-in-law Dea calls the Aquarium to check for wheelchair-availability. Of course that’s a yes, big thumbs up for me!
Being rolled around in a wheelchair was a little strange. I don’t know if it was just me being insecure, but I felt all eyes were on me. I’m sure people were trying to figure out why someone as young as me, with no obvious handicap would be in a wheelchair. I honestly didn’t care, despite all that, I had a great time with the family!
Girl, I hear you…I had to go through airports, malls, and even my own graduation in a wheelchair and felt like everyone was staring. Glad to hear you are getting better. I miss you!
I know what you mean, I had to use a wheelchair when I went to Disneyland due to exaustion I hated the people staring!!, but I loved that I always got to go first in line (^_^)
