The holiday season always sends me on the hunt for that perfect family photo spot, and ever since moving to Los Angeles, the Urban Light installation at LACMA had been at the top of my list. This iconic forest of 202 beautifully restored streetlamps from the 1920s and ’30s felt like the perfect backdrop for our crew—somewhere the kids could wander, play, and still give us those magic-hour moments.

By day, each lamp stands like its own little sculpture. But once the sun sets, they glow together, casting a warm, dreamy light across Wilshire Boulevard. It’s pure L.A. charm. Best of all, Urban Light is free, open to everyone, and truly one of those places that makes family photos feel a little extra special.
