Camping is something I believe every family should do with their kids. Weird to say cause…when I was growing up we never went camping! I don’t even think it was a thing in Guam where I spent all of my childhood days! Ever since my first camping experience almost 10 years ago – I was hooked! From the taste of food cooked over an open campfire, the comfort of a warm tent on a cold night, testing out new camping gear and gadgets, I could go on and on – but the simple fact is I just love being outdoors!
But what’s even more exciting is getting to experience my love of camping with Avery and hopefully he loves it to. I know he’s still young but I would love for this summer adventure to become a summer tradition. The first time we took Avery camping, he was only 8 weeks old! Yikes, crazy to think how itty bitty he was – what we’re we thinking! We stayed for one night and he slept in his car seat (which we put in the tent) with about 4 layers of blanket! Now that he’s a little over a year – walking, putting everything in his mouth, chatty but who knows what he’s saying – I think he enjoyed his second camping trip!
We escaped to Tinkham Road Campgrounds. It’s east of Seattle near Snoqualmie Pass and there are 47 tent campsites.
