This is my second year digging for razor clams and I must say it’s quite fun. All you need is a clam shovel, a container to put your clams in and most important, your clam license!

We drove up to Ocean Shores just this past weekend and stayed at a friend’s cabin by Copalis Beach. It was such a beautiful, quaint little cabin filled with seashells, dolphins, and random beachy trinkets.

On Saturday evening around 5:30 p.m. we headed out to Roosevelt Beach to dig up some clams. Unfortunately, after digging for about an hour and a half, battling with the wind and rain, and the constant waves coming in we didn’t catch any clams. With a group of 10 people, we managed to catch 3 clams between us all. It wasn’t a good clamming trip but spending time with dear friends and family is what makes a weekend getaway worth it!
