The structure itself is tremendously impressive, it’s huge, solid and shiny, like some alien construction dramatically placed in one of the most visually stunning parts of London.
The London Eye has 32 capsules, representing the 32 boroughs of London. Each capsule holds around 28 people. One rotation takes about 30 minutes, the pace is very slow giving riders plenty of time to take in the views. At the highest point you will be 443 ft. above the ground and will be able to see for about 25 mi. It’s a stunning view, what makes it fascinating for me is seeing how tiny central London is, and so green. All the big attractions are right there before you, framed by trees and park lands!
A real “tourist” thing; I definitely felt that the London Eye was worth it. It provides a fantastic view of London, which seems to stretch forever, and along the Thames, and was somewhat of a “unique travel experience”.
